It’s finally here. Season 2015 kicks off for the Kingston City Football Club on Monday Night the 23rd of February.
The Mighty Reds take on Nunawading City at the Grange Reserve with the Under 20’s kicking off at 18:30 and the Seniors at 20:30.
About our opponents, our scouts have watched them over the pre season and recently against Oakleigh. A very young side that will look at cementing and developing in their first NPL1 season. The team cannot be taken for granted as they are capable of punishing sides that take to the park with the wrong attitude.
The Red’s have made a number of signings in the off season to which we have announced on social media. The new signings are mostly young, up and coming footballers who will no doubt impress the supporters this year. Striker Sean McIllroy has also signed from St Albans as a replacement for Max Etheridge, who has returned to England. Sean’s form in the pre season has been impressive and will no doubt give allot of defenders this year huge headaches.
The Grange Reserve is in picture perfect condition and come Monday night, expect to see quality football played on a very good surface.
There have been a few improvements to the Grange over the summer months. The New indoor toilets are now complete. The ground now has 2 sets of the amenities. The Media and Sponsors boxes have also been re furbished.
Monday night will also see the announcement of the Major Sponsor for Season 2015. This will be announced at Half Time of the main match.
We are looking up ‘budding’ videographers to tape the Kingston City FC home games in 2010 and producing a highlight package for the club. This would ideally suit “media and Journalism” students but does not exclude anybody with a passion for football and media. This would also include commentary of the game.
