The Day After

The Day After
It’s Tuesday morning and many of us are asking what happened last night. These are my thoughts.
For those who braved a cold and wet night in Melbourne to attend the game, witnessed one of the best performances from a team that i have seen in a very long time.
Melbourne Victory were Clinical, Sharp, Disciplined, Fit and Ruthless last night at the Grange. Take nothing away from the Kingston City team they weren’t sitting second on the ladder preceding this game for no reason.
The way the Victory lads moved the ball around, countering attacks, blistering pace forcing the turnover and clinical finishing, was mind blowing last night.
The Victory Hierarchy had been watching us closely over the last 4 weeks and determined that we were the team to beat in this division.
‘You may ask what of our performance’. What i can say is that on the display that was shown by Victory last night, they would have torn apart the top 4 teams in the NPL!. To be judgmental on our performance would be unfair. Our players were outclassed by a better team on the night.
‘Where do we go from here’ It’s simple, we regroup learn from what we witnessed last night and bounce back for our next game on Monday night. This club has got the fortitude to bounce back from situations like these. It’s a proud club with great supporters, players and staff.
On a final note. Let’s hope those young lads that played for the Melbourne Victory last night are actually given the opportunity to represent the Victory A-League Senior team in the near future.
